i want to go shopping on that day ><;; so i'd like to know if many shops would be closed.....

No - most retailers are usually open - it is a major holiday for many retail stores.

It's a Federal holiday, which means banks, post offices and gov. offices / buildings will be closed, but retailers will be open, and some retailers offer great sales that day.

No,Banks, post offices, government agencies are closed. There are presidents day sales at department stores.

No its not. Its a goverment, school and bank holidays although soem companies celebrate and can give it as a holiday to its employees.
