I think drugies are idiots who became influenced b appers and peer peresour. tell me what you think.

theyre not 'stupid' there is a very prominent physician in my area that attends my narcotics anonymous group. he is addicted to prescription painkillers. addicts lack self control and have difficulties dealing with problems in healthy ways is all. living life on life's terms is the hardest part of recovery. the insanity of the disease tells the addict 'one more time' or 'i'm not addicted'

the definition of insanity - doing the same thing and expecting different results

so to answer your question, they are NOT stupid. they are just misinformed and willing to take certain risks that most people who are not addicts would find dangerous

Most people who do drugs are either trying to escape from reality for awhile, or are seeking something unknown to them. Sometimes, especially for the poor, life can be extremely difficult, so they seek escape the only way they know how. Although drugs don't solve their problems, it gives them a few moments of perceived releif.

Students who do drugs are usually trying to deal with teen angst caused by their hormones, trying to fit in with the crowd, or trying to deal with family problems that they don't have enough experience to understand. Even very smart people sometimes use drugs. Rich people, like Rush Limbaugh for instance, get drugs prescribed to them. A prescription doesn't make it any less a drug. Don't judge too harshly.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no, just like anybody else you look at. Maybe they have pain in their life and they don't know any other way to deal with it. Maybe they self medicate, instead of going to the Dr to get prescriptions, which are socially acceptable, but many are just as bad as street drugs. Maybe they started when they were really young and didn't know any better, and then got addicted and can't get off of the drugs. There are alot of reasons people turn to drugs- which doesn't make it good or right, but you shouldn't judge them, as you have never walked in their shoes.

Druggies are not necessarily stupid. They are people who may have personal issues and in order to avoid facing them, they are into drugs. Drugs is a form of escape from the reality. One may not know "how to" resolve what is going on and so the escape is drugs. It may be a stupid thing but it's their way of dealing with it.

It is a 'bondage' just like over-eating, smoking, gambling etc. Some drugs are so potent just one try and even kids get hooked. Since they get used to the feeling the drug gives they need someone to step in and see to it that they go to rehab.

i feel druggies are people with poor coaping skills that use poor judgment and get mixed up in stupid habits that wind up making their life harder.

1) drug use is expensive
2) drugs cloud your mind
3) drugs severely harm your health
4) drugs cause emotional withdraw
