If you have wood, you can build a smokehouse. Burning green wood will make a lot of smoke to dry out your fish. Or if you can collect sea salt from tidepools or whatnot, you can pack your gutted fish in it.

Remove moisture from the fish, by removing the insides of the fish and spreading it out to dry under the sun. If you are able to get salt from evaporating water from the sea, rub the salt all over the fish to help get rid of moisture. Food spoils when there is moisture in your food as it encourages bacteria and fungi to grow on it.

in this situation you would have some type of cage or catch set up so as that the fish you capture stay alive contained in the water yet can't smash out so that you do not bypass for days without food. the way deep sea fishermen keep their capture clean is with ice. in case you talked about "a ideal typhoon" you would possibly want to work out how they ice down the fish they capture so as that they do no longer smash and facilitates sailors and fishermen to stay out at sea for lengthy sessions of time.

Cut them in strips and dry them in the sun. Bacteria has a hard time growing without moisture. You might even add salt just to help the process.
