If anyone own one of them restourants or have some knowlege about investing in these franchises, please let me know. And also I have about $100,000 in the bank. Do you think it's enough to begin or give me in gerneral what sorts of thingxs you need to start a business like that. I greatly apperciate your replys, thanx!

The best way to ascertain whether either of these is a good investment is to speak with a minimum of six current franchisees, preferably 10 or more. Here are some basic questions to ask them followed by survey data results from franchisees of each:

About how many hours per week do you dedicate to your franchise business?

How would you describe your relations/communications with your franchisor?

Is the franchisor fair with you in resolving any grievances?

Are territories equitably granted?

How would you describe the initial and ongoing training provided by your franchisor?

In what ways could the parent company most improve?

Is your income A) more, B) less or C) about what you expected prior to opening your business?

If you could turn back time to the day you signed your franchise agreement, would you make the same decision to buy your franchise?

The last one is of course the most important. Here's some data from franchisees of these companies. There were 15 Quizno's respondents from 12 different states, 16 Subway franchisees responded from 15 different states.

Quizno's:

Is your income more, less or about what you expected prior to opening your business?
% answering
More 13%
Less 67%
About what was expected 20%
Summary: 33% are making about what they expected, or more

If you could turn back time to the day you signed your franchise agreement, would you make the same decision to buy your franchise?
% answering Yes 33%
No 67%

Subway:

Is your income more, less or about what you expected prior to opening your business?
% answering
More 25%
Less 25%
About what was expected 50%
Summary: 75% are making about what they expected, or more.

If you could turn back time to the day you signed your franchise agreement, would you make the same decision to buy your franchise?
% answering
Yes 63%
No 38%

Good luck. Please feel free to email me with additional questions.

Yeah I'd go with Quiznos, mostly because Subway is all over the place. Almost every town has a subway somewhere. like where I live for example, very small town, why do we have 5 subways? Doesen't make much sense, we have 3 in plazas, 1 at a gas station and 1 in Wal-Mart, we have 1 Quiznos. I'd do Quiznos if I were you, definetely more tasty subs, plus they're a bit more leniant on prices you want to charge depending on your location. Subway likes to tell you what they want you to charge for about anything they sell.

Dude, they`re all declaring Subway. No way! at the same time as i bypass to Subway i'm getting a vegetarian with each and every thing. Their subs are weak. i appreciate Quiznos yet Dominoes is like so lower priced isnt it? We`ve been getting that, plus they provide, eh?!!

Quiznos... having said that, I'd damn sure find at least two of their franchise owners and talk to them before spending a nickel.
Some face time with others who are there will be worth $1000's to you in the long run.

The Quizno owner of the one here is VERY sorry he opened it, he hasn't had a day off in over a year, and is sick of it already. It's probably making money, but he's having such a hard time finding staff it's academic. I finally asked him and he has yet to not be there in 15 months. Screw that.

Quiznos all the way.... Just a classier place all together. If you want a little place where class means nothing and your customers will be skanks anyway, then by all means go with subway.

Quiznos is more expensive and you get less for your money. Subways and a good location is the better bet.

Subway. It's extremely popular and people will get it because it's cheaper. Also, here in Dublin (Ireland) there are a few in the city centre in a shopping centre, and they all get business, so you'd have no problem.
