Who is best depends on your definition of a good singer. I'm not familiar Brian Johnson, but for pure melodic range, ability to stay in tune, and absolute powerful singing, I'd say Freddy Mercury had the best voice.

However, it would be hard to think of the Stones without Mick Jagger singing lead, or Arrowsmith without Steven Tyler, so these voices are perfect for the type of song these groups play. Springsteen and Adams both have that kind of scratchy, hoarse voice when they sing, but again, that's perfect for their style. I'm sure the same is true of both Hagar and Johnson.

As for worst, the same rules would apply in my mind. Jagger can sound horrible at times, Tyler also has that hoarse quality and you're not sure if he actually hit the right note sometimes, Springsteen's range is pretty flat as I'm thinking of it, Mercury can be so over the top that's it's almost annoying in some ways, Adams and the rest have their issues, I'm sure. If I had to pick one overall poor quality singer I think I'd go with Jagger. But I'd still rather hear him singing "Under My Thumb", "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" or "Sympathy for the Devil" than anyone else.

I love Sammy Hagar, but for best I'm going to have to go with Freddie Mercury, he has a much more versitile voice.
For worst... that's hard, I guess Brian Johnson, I've always been more of a Bon Scott girl.

It is so stupid to ask "who's the best" when they all are best in what they do. Just try to imagine Freddy, who was an amazing singer with excellent technique abnd vocal range, singing "Born to Run." ho would he sing it to? His boyfriend? That'd be hilarious. Mick Jagger is not even a singer, he can sing, he only squeals or barks. Tyler started as a Jagger-wannabe but he singts too well for Jagger. Bon Jovi can sing quite well, too, in his ccommercial domain. The reast of them are not worth mentioning. So grow a brain and learn to appreciate them for who they are without forcing a demented and impossible comparison.

With the exception of maybe Freddie Mercury, most of the singers you listed aren't technically very good singers.

None of them could cut it in a broadway or opera production....not that any of them would want to.

But thats' whats great about rock n roll....it's OK to be a little sloppy or frayed around the edges.
