I have taken a line-out from my audio amplifier that goes to the line-in of the PC. I play my vinyl on the turntable connected to my amplifier, and capture the sound via the line-in of the computer.

I use Audacity (free download) to record and manipulate the resultant file. Audacity allows exporting the files as .wav or mp3 files, and also allows you to use filters to improve the sound of the file, such as removal of cracks and pops from vinyl.

Free download of Audacity at web address below:

psh..... good luck..my suggestion would be to get a microphone for your com and then get an ID3 converter to convert your LPs to MP3. by the way, why do you want to convert vinyl to MP3? why not just donwload the MP3s? you can find anything with a P2P program like Limewire.

digital is, by technique of definition, the option of analog, so for sure the analog sound might want to be lost. notwithstanding, you may salvage various the known by technique of replacing to 96khz 24-bit Flac, or perchance to DVD-Audio. both of those might want to be larger high quality than a keep-offered CD. i assume an mp3 generated from Vinyl might want to be ever somewhat extra effective than an mp3 switched over from Wav, yet in case you care about that huge difference then you surely're extra effective off utilizing a extra effective format than mp3 firstly (if no longer flac, then Ogg or no longer less than AAC).
