It's tough for me. I love Prisoner of Azkaban, and it was my favorite until Order of the Pheonix came out. The plot in "Azkaban" was awesome....time travel, finding out what really happened to harry's parents....Lupin...it was just great...and Harry still had a certin level of innocence that he lost completely by Half-Blood Prince. The thing I like about The Order of the Pheonix is that Harry finally takes control of his destiny. I love Fred and George, and the DA, and even though i was pissed about Sirius being killed off I think the book was great. They are both good...and both are better then Half-Blood. I'm pissed about Dumbledors death, and I'm pissed Harry isn't going back to Hogwarts. That school was its own character, and I don't know how good the last book can be without it.

This is a hard question because of character development. I loved (and still love the first one) because of Harry finding out about the Wizarding world and meeting everyone.
I also love Prisoner of Azkaban with the Marauder's Map and Professor Lupin
The Goblet of Fire with the challenges was tragic with Cedric's death.
The Half Blood Prince was amazing-the Dumbledore....we won't speak of that.
But really, some of my favorite mental memories-which I hope they do well with on screen is this-Harry teaching Dark Arts and George and Fred creating a lake in the Hallway. So as dark as the rest of the book is-the means The Order of the Phoenix would have to be my favorite.

Hmmm...
The list of the Harry Potter books:
1. Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone

2.Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

3.Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban

4.Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

5.Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix

6.Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince.

I think, overall, the books are keep getting better .

In my opinion, starting the 5th and above the endings are keep getting worst.
First, Sirius Black died, then Albus Dumbledore died.
Those two deceased characters are my favourite characters.
But, the thing is, J.K. Rowling made these books interesting with the unusual endings though.
I hope the last book will be a happy ending.
I don't think i can stand 3 sad endings of harry potter books in a row.

Don't kill me. That is my opinion

I would have to say the first one. Without a foundation a building doesnt stand for long. Harry really starts to exist here, and sadly I identify with his "childhood". The rest of the books are all fantastic, maybe a bit of lag where things get more intense as harry gets older and theres a larger gap between his "adventures" within each book, but still all fanatstic. I do love to stick with a character for more than one two or three books.

Hoestly probably the goblet of fire (I actually am pretty sure this is the one she maid her very big bucks at)
I actually saw her read from that book! WOW!
I was part of a genis world record!
the 3rd one was actually not my fav. because well Sirus was such an easy character and somhow he didnt just hit me (later on his character really developed) but by the end of the 3rd i realy wanted to read the 4th so maybe that's why i think the 4th is the best. ( and i didn't have the book for like 3 weeks and the suspense was killing me) so my opinion might be a little biesed anyway, i loved the 4th book and the movie I remember sitting in the theater and actually remembering what was going to happen and a read it like 4 years ago!

P.S. I am sorry but i did not read the 6th book.
I will this summer (a lot of school stuff)!

It was Azkaban, because I love Sirius so much, but now it's Half Blood Prince. I can't believe how this woman just keeps getting better every time she writes.
