Oh this one is too easy. It's because they can't remember what the issues are or how to speak intelligently to the American public.

Because it is expedient. It is much easier and less time consuming to call Hillary Clinton a pickle faced old prune who hasn't got clue on how to run this country than to take the time to educate someone on to why her programs are bad for this country.

"I can't believe I am losing to this idiot"

John Kerry in a Newsweek article, post election, in 2004

Name calling has become politically normal. Republicans are not the only one to do so.

Don't know if you watch CSPAN, but apparently you don't. Spend some time watching our elected officials doing their thing. You will quickly notice that it is the Democrats (Senator Kennedy, etc.) who tend to get mean and ugly and the Republicans (Senator McCain, etc.) who behave in a more cordial and professional manner. Think about it darlin'.

You've not been hearing correctly. It is the Dems and
Lliberals that have called Bush every evil name one can
think of. I've never heard Bush call any American a bad
name.......only bad names for the terrorists who keep the
world in turmoil. If it wasn't for their ilk, we could all focus
on living our lives in peace here and in Iraq and across the
globe. We should all be calling those terrorists names, not
our own president who tries to protect American citizens
here at home and has thousands of young men and women
who are willing on their own to wear our uniform proudly and
fight for their and our freedom. God Bless Them.

Projecting again. Why is it that when I research this type of accusation, the majority of name callers are liberals. Funny how the left always takes their faults and accuses others of them.

They are insecure and usually have smaller genitalia (just kidding). What they lack facts to back up their cases.
