I took my car (a fleet car) into a Penski to get an LOF done. I'd written down the customer # and the purchase order # in my planner. I gave that information to the man at the counter (his name was Larry). He wanted to see my planner, as if I couldn't read a number accurately, one I'd written myself. He also wanted the customer name...

I'd never needed the customer name before. He indicated a large 3-ring binder and said that it was full of customer names, and the customer # did no good without the name. I called the office, and the fleet coordinater had never needed to provide a customer name either.

I was lucky enough to see the page that our customer # was on... Yeah, the list of names was a list of offices... Yeah, we were in Milwaukee... just maybe it's not the Boston office, Dkhd!! And it's probably not the Chicago office (although they are kinda close) Do you think it's maybe it's the Milwaukee office?

I observed how Larry treated others who came in, and his respect for them seemed to be proprtional to how much machine grease was on their clothing... I was wearing a dress that day. I suspect that he was being a jerk, asking for information that was unnecesary because I was a woman, and wearing a dress... apparently if a person knows about cars, dressing nice is not possible...

hahahaha. oh, boy. i guess all the time. i'm fairly quiet, most of the time. i dunno, what stereotypes go along with quiet people? i'm shy, naive, weak, people can take advantage of me.... really, i just choose not to speak unless i really have something to say. i think more people should practice that. i'm certainly not that shy, not naive in the slightest, i have a huge anger problem (which might be why i also choose to do the world a service and keep my mouth shut).
