Here in the US I don't think there is a age. First time I drove a ride on mower by myself was at 9yrs old. But then again I was riding motocross bikes at 5.

I guess its really up to the parents and if the child can handle the mower safely. Hills can be tricky for kids.

There is no minimum age in the US. I can't speak for the UK. I know in most states, for farm tractors, the age is 16 for the public road ways.

I imagine it's more a matter of size...would you be able to reach the brake, able to operate the controls?

You don't have to be any age, but you do need an adult with you if your not sure what you are doing...
