The true value of a company is probably the sum total of all their best employees. However, there is no place on financial statements for the value of employees. Your children are your most valuable assets, and "good" employees are the most valuable assets of a company, but not listed on the balance sheet. Perhaps your HR topic could be how to value employees objectively, and to present this info to stockholders, so the "true" value of the company can be reflected in the balance sheet.
