My motherboard has 4 slots for DDR and 2 slots for DDR2. I have one dual channel kit 2X512MB. I want to buy another 1GB of RAM memory. Shall I get DDR, or sell my dual channel kit and buy 2GB DDR2? I know DDR2 is better, so what should I do?

DDR2 memory is supposed to be better/faster. They have a higher timing, run at twice the speed of DDR, and at a lower voltage. However they have a slighter higher CAS latency, you wont notice... Also they do make 2GB DDR2 sticks which you could get 4GB with just two sticks, as long as your motherboard supports 2GB sticks.

Edit: there are boards made with both DDR and DDR2 slots, they were made for people who wanted to slowly upgrade their computer, here is an example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813185080

I have never heard of a mother board that supports both types, but if that is truly the case, go with the ddr2 @2gigs so you have a matched set. You will have less problems if the memory is identical
