Add ln to both sides
ln (e^6x) = ln 16
6x = ln 16
6x = ln 2^4
6x = 4 ln 2
x = (2/3) ln 2
An alternative way would changing ln 16 to ln4^2. Then your final answe would be (1/3) ln 4
