Branding includes not only logos, but color, font, style, layout, etc. The color, font, etc. can be stored in CSS file (Cascading Style Sheet) and applied to ALL pages on your site. That way, if you want to change your brand look, you only need to change the settings in the one file and viola!, all of the pages will change at once to look the same way with the new brand.

Your teachers trying to say that " dont make a "Default" website. One thing important is to determine your idea then put it together on unique appearance.
Unique means people interested when watch your website then want to surf it.

To brand your website, think of something that will remind people of your website.
For example, yahoo.com has Yahoo!
Nike has the swoosh symbol.
coffeecup.com, a software company has...well a coffee cup.
Think of a symbol, and/ or a catchy phrase of your site for people to remember you by.
