Hate is self destructive, it destroys the hater!! I can understand you disliking Mr. Bush for I do also!!! He is a man that should have never became President! He has failed miserably as a leader, and ruined the Country financially!! He is a divider not a uniter and has not earned the trust, respect and confidence of the American people!! He has caused other countries to look down on America!!!! He has not put America first in solving our problems here at home!!! No it does not mean you hate AMERICA!!!

Absolutely not. George Bush is not the U.S. He is a person that is in a position which represents a country. There are many cases where leaders (individuals in positions that may have power) take advantage and create chaos -all in the name of a belief. However, they are not always a true representation of the group/organization that they head. We, as individuals, have our opinions and beliefs. These beliefs and opinions were devised through a multitude of influences, education, and/or experiences. If he has given you reason to dislike him for what he has done or said, you are entitled to your opinion about him. You have to remember that he is not the US and really does not represent the behaviours, beliefs, and opinions that a vast amount of US citizens, nationals, or residents have. He's just in a position that he can make decisions of great magnitude (on behalf of a country). But the world knows that there is a great amount of the population that does not agree with Bush's strategies, behaviours, attitude toward the international community, and his perspectives........

I have voted both democrat and republican... actually voted for President Carter twice. This question reminds me of a friend of mine who "hated" President Clinton. I would get into arguments with him and try to explain to him that hey, the guys the President of the United States... cut him some slack already. See, the way I feel about it is that when half the country is attempting to topple the President (regardless of which party is in office) then we will become like those governments of third world countries... who, for some reason, can't seem to ever accomplish anything. Think about it darlin'.

Why would that mean you hate America? Tons of people dislike him....have you seen the news, magazines,(and even once I saw a T-shirt). People often pin everything that goes wrong in a country on the president, or just dislike him. I guess it comes with the position.

No, it doesn't mean that at all. I hate Bill Clinton, now, and when he was president (eww), but I would die for my country still, and do what was required of me, had I been in the military then, for example. You have a right to your opinion, as is the American way. It's called freedom. The right to think for yourself, however, if you were to interfere, let's say, in the direct order's of the President, then you would be looked at as a hater of America. George is the president, elected to that office. He is the commander in chief, and is given the right to be obeyed, by the voter's. I am very glad though, even if I myself adore George Bush, that we all have the right to Freedom.

By no means. It is one of our great strengths that the President is NOT the country. Nor is the Congress, nor the bureaucracy. We have stated in the Constitution what America is.
We, the people.
