20-24" you need a big tank, 125 gallons or more for a full grown knife fish

These fish will grow to 2-3 feet in their natural habitat, or in extremely large aquariums. Most likely, depending on the size of your tank, you can expect your Black Ghost to grow up to 12 inches.

well, there is one at the Baltimore aquarium that is almost three feet (36 inches) long. I have heard that they can be up to 48 inches! plan on a REALLY big aquarium...you might want to start small, I am not sure how they are at foraging for food, especially if you have a lot of other fast swimmers. They typically hide all day and only come out at night, and seem to prefer blood worms or brine shrimp.
