The New Zealand rugby team are more commonly known in world rugby as the All Blacks.

This nickname is rumored to have come about in the early days of the team, when on a tour of Britain they were described as playing as if they were 'all backs'. The newspaper made a typo, and the name stuck.

However, it also refers to the fact that the team uniform is a black shirt, black shorts and black socks.
