actually it depends what they are blaming you for. If they are blaming you solely for something that only you were culpable for then they would be leaving everybody else alone. If on the other hand they were blaming you for what others were culpable of, ie I blame him because he never stopped all those other swines from running over my garden with their spikey boots. so in this scenario although you get the focus of the blame they are still having a go at other people. So this is no longer a question that has a myth or truth answer. This question has now become a question that has a myth/truth/something else answer available. It has more than 2 sides. Which fits well with the most up to date theories of quantum physics.

ask yourself if you were talking to one of your Friends about someone else and blaming that someone for something how many people would you be talking about? If your having a go about someone then you are leaving everyone else alone at that time. Therefore the answer to your question is true.

It's not a myth. It's an old 'saying'.
It's an answer to give someone who tells you others have been talking about you.
A way of remembering that gossip isn't worth getting upset over.

Sure, it's a very true old wives tail. But, it is only accurate for that moment. Only in that one moment while they're talking about you are they leaving someone else alone. In the next moment, who knows who they're harassing.

No its neither myth or truth. Tt`s what we all do, it`s called gossiping. Most people forget what`s been said in a very short time, don`t worry about it.
