My husband, 3 year old and I will be driving across the US. Starting in NC, visiting in Minnesota, and continuing on to our new home in Eureka, California. I have never been to the western part of the country and am looking for advice as to the absolute best things that must be seen between Minn. and Eureka. We will probably be camping since we won't be leaving until this summer. We plan on taking approx. a month for the entire trip. Any ideas?

Depends in what you are interested in. Since you will be camping, I can only assume you might like national parks, natural areas. Just some of the parks along your route are: Badlands NP, Wind Cave NP in S.D., Theodore Roosevelt NP in N.D., Divil's Tower N.M. & Yellowstone NP & Flaming Gorge NRA (National Recreation Area) in Wyo., Dinosaur NM in Colo. & Utah, Craters of the Moon NM in Idaho and Great Basin National Park in Nevada. I suggest get a large scale - Large type American Map (or other brand, I just like American Map's version) Road Atlas and plan your route. For detailed info, if anything on the map looks good, just google it.
