Depends on the environment and context. A white man proud of his heritage living in Uganda will not be considered racist since
1) The white man is a minority, and 2) The instruments of power rest with non-whites. A white man flouting his race in a country of white majority where whites control bastions of power will be considered racist, and vice-versa. Similarly a brown muslim flouting his race in Kuwait will be considered racist. Hopefully you get the point. So ethnic minorities celeberating their heritage where they do not control instruments of power may do so as a celeberation of their ethnic pride. If you really want to celeberate your ethnic pride go to a country where people are not your colour and where you are an immigrant and I am sure you will not be considered a racist.

In a sense being proud of being "white" versus being proud of being, say, Irish or German or whatever, comes off differently. White pride and white power are associated with racism and such, but if you break it down to ethnicity and nationality, then it's usually not an issue.

Because the popular media for years have poisoned the minds of our society on matters of race.They have presented the white race as evil because our ancestors owned slaves.So much so that the white youth of today try to act black by talking like black people,dress like blacks,and listen to gangsta rap.They have no pride in their race because all they have ever heard is how their race enslaved the blacks and have been made to be ashamed of being white.Black power is viewed as having racial pride while white power is viewed as being neo-nazi.
The plain and simple truth is that the white race is the smallest race on the planet and due to inter-racial marriage is slowly disappearing.Having racial pride is not a bad thing in itself,believing your race is superior because of the color of your skin is.But if the white race is so evil why do almost all the successful black males marry white women? Is it a strategy by the black race to slowly rid the world of the dreaded white race?One has to wonder if their will be a white race a hundred years from now.

Proud of being White is fine but remember everyone is proud of their race. Give due respect to all for the sake of humanity.

I have an friend who always thinks in racial terms, focusing mostly on the defects of the races. I tend to believe that he does this subconsciously to boost some kind of superiority feeling over others. (He is a Czech in his 60's).
But behind this psyching oneself to the point of projecting a "superior facade" lies a deep-seated, perhaps unconscious inferiority complex. For what is superiority complex but a reverse inferiority complex. In this context, any complexes, whether fear, guilt, shyness, etc. is detrimental to human well-being and to the attainment of the ultimate human goal.
At this critical juncture in society, where humanity's survival is threatened from every facet of its existence, it is imperative to adopt a stance of real and genuine equanimity and embracing and realizing the connectivity and oneness of All Life. The "old, decrepit skeletons of the past" have to be cut asunder and relegated to the dustbins of history.

I think that perception is out there. It depends in part on how you show your pride. Being proud of western culture or african culture is fine. Being in the KKK or Black Panthers is racist.

thats crap, if you are proud of your race why should you care what other people think? that underminds the purpose. having pride means you are happy to flaunt what runs in your veins no matter what people say. people who get offended by your pride have no culture and dont know what they are

Well you all don't really have anything to be proud of. You came to America and manipulated the Native Americans took their land, and gave them your disease. Then you decided that you can't do work for yourselves so you ship thousands of Africans to America to do it for you. You enslaved them, they got no pay, you beat them, rapped them, and killed them. Now you tell me if I'm wrong but that doesn't seem like something to be very proud of. I'm just stating well know facts here!
