Like say the Wal-Mart or Rite Aid Omega-3 supplements... if they cost less, then are they less effective than the ones that cost more? Are they more cheaply made, thus making them less effective?

I would have to say no. Big chains can go to any plant manufacturing supplements and tell them what they want, and they WILL tell them that they want this done cheaply. This affects how they are processed.

However, some MLM companies have really good quality, but are overpriced because of their 'upline'. The best advice would be to buy a cheaper one, and see if it benefits you, if you can notice a difference.

Also, if you are financially able, have it tested by an independant lab, especially if it's something you intend to use a long time.

I have been getting all my supplements from a Naturopath, however, she only sells one brand, and it's from a MLM company. I have found a new source that I LOVE, however, you need to know what you need/want, as they cannot tell you the medical benefits because by law they're not allowed. A source for some potent, mid priced supplements is listed below. Send for their catalog before you order anything, as that is what sold me on this company, and I no longer get anything at WM, and only from the local Naturopath when I need it immediately.

Check the label of the packet/bottle for the strength and make up of the medication. They should be pretty similar.

I brought a bottle of brand name Valerian tablets, and a chemist brand bottle of Valerian tablets… and the tablets where literally identical.
Same strength, ingredients, shape, size, and colour…

Plus the chemist brand one was half the price for twice as many tablets.
When I asked the pharmacist about it he said they where made on the same assembly line.

If the strengths are the same, try the cheaper brand. They’ll probably be the same.
