I think having a high level of self-esteem is a very good thing, meaning that we should all be proud and content with ourselves and our actions..Regarding egoism, I am one of those..And I think that it's relatively good, because it may sometimes make you think you're the most important in your whole social environment....

An egoist is a person who is devoted to his own interests and advancement. An egocentric person.
A person who has a lot of self esteem is a very confident person, very sure of himself.
Egoist or egotist:
There is a considerable overlap between the words, but a difference exists. An egoist is someone who is self-centred or selfish, often without realising it: He's a proper egoist, never thinking to enquire about the needs or wishes of anyone else. An egotist is an arrogant or conceited person, always talking about himself: She's a real egotist, always on about what she has done or is planning to do.

I've heard it said that you can follow your reputation or you can let your reputation follow you. People who act and let others think what they will, are people with a sense of self-esteem. They're unafriad of what others do, and are focused on what they think is right, their reputation follows them around. Another person though acts so that other people will see they make desisions, they act under a different kind of motivation... these people, you say, follow their own reputation.
Both may look very similar, because they behave in very similar ways, but the difference comes when theres a test. Eventually some clever person is going to pop a challenge or dillima up to see what you will do... for those who do what they want anyway, they will simply choose, and feel fine, but for those who chase their own reputation, they will hesitate, in stumble in searching for the 'right' answer.

A person can have self esteem and still respect other beings and ideas,
The egotist often takes the self esteem to a dogmatic level, behaving as if he is superior to most others.

Being egotistical or conceited means that you refuse to admit to your own shortcomings and also seek first to demonstrate your own greatness to others.
Having a lot of self-esteem and confidence means knowing yourself and your strengths very well, while still being able to admit to your own weaknesses. It means that you approach the situations in your life boldly.
Egotism means that you are constantly concerned with proving yourself to be better than others. Self-esteem means that you are comfortable knowing that you can't be the best at everything, but that you can still value what you are good at.

Egotistic is when you think yourself morally superior to someone else, for whatever reason, by making self comparasons betwean yourself and other's behaviour,
but in particular because you have a gift another doesn't possess, such as intellet. Bragging allot about your talents, qualifications, job; condeming others on their mistakes as if your flawless, ect..
Self esteem is to do with Hope, and can only be found in God. That's my personal belief.

Well..
egoistic is just self-esteem that relies upon a sense of successful sustained degradation of others, whether the degradation is manifest or projected.
Right?

Self esteem is confidence in one's self. Egotism is an over exaggerated, unrealistic positive view of one self that other's do not recognize.
