When I draw I like to use an eraser for dramatic effects, I use a pink pearl and a kneaded rubber. This results in an eraser heavy with graphite. What is the best way to clean it without destroying it? I am in Iraq with the Army so good pencils and erasers are hard to come by.

I prefer something other than pink pearl because when it dries up, it leaves bad smudges on the paper. Use the white vinyl or even gum eraser.

the others are right, the knadible eraser as you know you just fold it over for a new part. an the other ones you rub off. almost every time i grab my eraser for a clean highlight or something i rub it againt my jeans, i do so much i dont even look its habit. but i understand how it may wear out your things more then you want. my advice is theres plenty of people if you really want a couple erasers would understand your situartion an would send one over to you. i would even do it if you were out. so join an art forum like on devantart.com an get friends with other graphite artists an im sure theyd help

Gum rubbers might be better for keeping clean, but if rubbing it on your clothes or chair doesn't work, try rubbing it in the palm of your hand. Or use the graphite on the rubber in the drawing to shade or something. I draw ghosts to clean my rubbers and it turns out pretty effective.

Fold the kneaded eraser upon itself several times until it is its original color. The pink eraser can be cleaned by rubbing it on fine sandpaper.

i rub my erasers on rough subjects to get them clean as well (denim works great!)
but sometimes that doesn't take all of the graphite off. if you take a razor blade and shave off the outer surface which is covered in graphite, the inside is like brand new.
