There's been a gas smell inside my car. We already brought it to 2 mechanics and they saw nothing wrong with it. We even tried to cover up some opening under the hood where the gas smell might be leaking into the interior. Still didn't work. It's been this way for 2 years now. Will i die? (will it affect my performance at work without me noticing?)

i am shocked and amazed that you had your car to two mechenics and they found nothing wrong with it . you should deffinatly get another mechanic to look at your car . the smell of gas indicates poor venting(meaning your exhaust system is not working properly) or you have a gas leak some where on the engine . if your car was involved in an accident chances are that it could turn you and your car into a fireball . i urge you to get rid of that death trap or have the car proffessionally serviced to elimanate the smell of gasoline.

Through misuse as an inhalant, gasoline also contributes to damage to health.

Petrol sniffing is a common way of obtaining a high for many people and has become epidemic in many poorer communities such as with Indigenous Australians.

In response, Opal fuel has been developed by the BP Kwinana Refinery in Australia, and contains only 5% aromatics (unlike the usual 25%) which inhibits the effects of inhalation.

Best take it to as many mechanics as it takes to fix the problem. Long term gas inhalation is not good for you ( look what happens to glue sniffers)

DEFINITELY! IT CUTS THE MIXTURE OF OXYGEN TO THE BRAIN WHICH WILL CAUSE SEVERE HEADACHES AND BODY ACHES. ALSO PROLONGED EFFECTS CAN EFFECT OTHER AREAS OF LIFE AS IN FATIGUE AND SOME TIMES SEXUAL PERFORMANCE. ALSO YOU NEED TO GO TO THE DEALER HAVE THEM RUN A EXHAUST GAS PROBE IN THE VEHICLE AS IT RUNS TO DETERMINE IF ITS IN THE PASSENGER AREA. BEST OF LUCK
