I would like to make a crip bumper using the same kind of fabric as the baby quilt, but have no idea on how to get started. Are there any good website explaining this?

you would want to use that polyester filling that looks like cotton to stuff it out....

take a long piece of fabric and sew across it every 8 inches or so. this will create little chambers.stuff each chamber with that poly fill, then sew across the bottom of it to close.
that will make the seem point down, and the "chambers" will give flexibility to go around the crib. I would be careful though. I don't know if they are supposed to have tie straps on them or not. Babies can really get them selves in a pickle, so I would be weary of making one of those myself.

you could make it also by making a bunch of little pillows, then sewing them together. if you go that route, just take a bit bigger seem in the sewing on the sides of the pillows.

I don't know if you are hand sewing or machining it, so that is why i gave the answers i gave.

Go to the fabric store and get a pattern from McCalls or Butterick. Are you sure you want to make one, maybe it would be better to cover one from the store as there are a lot of safety rules involved with anything for a baby, such as having it firm enough so that the baby does not suffocate and the ties a certain way so that they don't choke.

Joanne's Fabrics stores have patterns for those things. Wait until they have their 99 cent sales though.
