Why do you feel that it's wrong?
I think it's alright to meet him, but yes, just be sure to always be safe. You can meet him in a very public place, like a mall.. or Starbucks! Then during your first meetings, don't go with him to places where the two of you will be alone. If you get to know him, who knows, you might find out that you have mutual friends! And when that happens, it won't be so scary anymore, right?
If all those things I mentioned above don't work for you, how about bring a friend along on your first meeting? I guess this would be better than wondering for the rest of your life about what might have been.. :)

On line is fine for getting to know another, somewhat! Yes, you can meet him in a public place and not alone! Better still, is to bring a friend, but not a good looking GF! You will find that getting to know the real person will take time, no matter how long you chatted with him! This pertains to the ladies as well! He maybe the opposite of what you think! That happens with men too! God bless your meeting. Earl

Yes of course you can meet him but in public. You are definitely safe in public just as long as you stay in public, unless the reason why you asking a question is because you dont feel safe in public either.
Best bet is to meet him where a lot of people hang out.....one of them crowded parks, or nice cafe or a restaurant. Just as long as you constantly have a drink on you and you dont leave your drink unatended you are good to go. And of course it would help if you meet a guy during a day time, not when it is dark.
By the way good movie to watch if you are worried is Hard Candy. Its a little overdone i believe but it is about an underage girl meeting this weird 30 y o dude who happened to have a bad past. Now if you are not the case and your blind date is legit you should be good to go. No worries. I met my fiance off internet. :)

Meet him in a public place. Have a couple of friends be there and keep an eye on you. Don't tell him they are there either. Make sure you have a cell phone with you. You don't know anything about him but what he's told you. Be very careful about this meeting. It may all be innocent, but there are too many cases where it's not. At least with your friends there, you will have another witness as to what he really looks like. Make your friends promise not to leave early. Do not leave with him either. I don't care what he has to show you, or if it's too loud, what ever the reason. If he want's to leave, then just let him. I know this sounds very doom and gloom, but a girl has to watch out for herself. There are just too many sickos out there that have ruined it for the the good guys. Good luck.

Invite him to a group party with your friends, a group outing to the movies. You could also meet him somewhere public like a fast food place for a bite to eat, but make sure you take your own car or your own way there and home. Make sure you have your cell phone pon you in case of emergency and tell a friend where/when you are are going etc. Safety comes first, they could be anybody. Group meeting is the best way.

Meet in a public place during the day time, and if you think it necessary, give his stats to a friend or relative so that they know where you will be and with whom. I used to do that each time I had a first date with anyone I didn't know well. You can't be too careful these days. I had a friend who would go as far as writing down the license plate number, then excuse herself go back inside and call a friend to give it to.

Often people are not themselves online. Although he seems like a nice guy...you never really know.
College is a whole different world. There are MANY men that really live it up in college and just get as many notches on their belt as they can. (and no, not all are like this)
How old are you? Because if you aren't 18, then it is illegal.
Stick with the guys that are your age...you will have time to branch out after high school.
Good luck!
