That behavior kind of qualifies. Passive aggressive is when you get mad at somebody but do not show it, then later on they may just say hello to you and you flip out on them. They probably have no idea thay made you angry. It is not showing your emotions at the time of incidence, but at another unrelated time or situation

Passive aggressive behavior is extremely annoying. Someone offends you or hurts you, or in some way makes you angry, then instead of confronting them, or dealing with it openly you use subterfuge. Examples:

You know your partner has to have orange juice in the morning, you "accidentally spill it all over the floor."

Your girlfriend has a really important test that she is obviously studying for, you, who never watch television normally, feel a need to blast it while she's studying.

You know that your husband needs to arrive on time to help greet business associates at a very important function, and you just can't seem to find the right earrings to match your outfit.

You know she has an important interview and needs the car, and you "forget" to fill the tank.

I don't think what you did is passive aggressive. I think what you did was just plain mean.

Definition of Passive-aggressive

Passive-aggressive: Pertaining to behavior in which feelings of aggression are expressed in passive ways as, for example, by stubbornness, sullenness, procrastination, or intentional inefficiency.

The term passive-aggressive behavior was coined by military psychiatrists in a 1945 US War Department technical bulletin to describe soldiers who employed a mixture of passive resistance and grumbling compliance.

Passive aggressives are the people who are hostile but masquerade around with a civil demeanor . . .
all the while shafting people behind their backs whenever they can.
They seek opportunity to screw people over while faking a happy face.
They are apparently totally incapable of honesty when they have an issue with someone .
They are the true 2 - faced people.

my understanding of 'passive aggressive' is basically saying and doing agressive things in a very calm way. this puts you in a position of power in an argument because you seem the one i control and on top of things.
