Yes, vinegar (about a bottle) and baking soda follwed by hot water (about a pitcher full). I let this combination sit there for a few hours. When I go back and flush, it seems the clog is gone. My kids seem to be pros at clogging the toilet so I've had too much experience unclogging it! Good luck!!

the C4 would work But, it would scare the poop outa ya and no place to go.
Try this, if the toilet backs up rather fast the clog is close if it is slow to back up it is away from ya , if it backs up fast stay away for any thing that will make the toilet hot it can explode or crack
take a plunger good one , and make sure all the air is out of it in the cup the black part
press it hard to the opening of the toilet rolling it to get a good seal make sure the air is out, pump it not pull hard pump about three four maybe five times then pull up really fast, flush and note how fast it fills up , repeat about four times if nothing good happens call a plumber have him rod it from the vent pipe on your roof, the clog is way down the line

When my kid kept clooging up the toilet, I finally found a plunger that really works. It's molded plastic with a large accordian type chamber. It moves more air, water, and 'stuff' than a traditional plunger. Most of the time one or two good pushes does the trick. Sometimes it does take several minutes of plunging, but in the end it clears the line. I found this one years ago at a hardware store, but have seen them at other stores too. Check places like Sears, Kmart, Target, and so on. You'll be glad you did.

before you remove your toilet, there is a little bladder type device you can try they come in different sizes and connect to your water hose. attach to your hose and insert into toilet just like a snake. get it in as far as you can then turnmon hose. the bladder expands and seals off the pipe forcing pressure down the line. it should blow any obstructions down the line.
the guy above is right, nothing but toilet paper in the toilet. no female stuff or condoms. if it is an ongoing problem try changing to a thinner paper(look for one thats says is good for septic systems. also, make sure kids are not using great gobs of tp

take the toilet off.run the snake through make sure the toilet auger goes all the way through the other end .sometimes something might be stuck in the trap so what you do so as soon as the auger comes out the other side tie a rag on the auger or use a small string and try to pull it through that should loosen everything up.

Again, being that I'm an ex Navy Seal, this is right up my alley. Get yourself around 4-6 pounds of C-4. Pack that stuff firmly around and in that troublesome toilet. Clear the area for around 600-700 ft. Get back, way back. Detonate. That toilet is no longer your main problem. That toilet doesn't even exist

Do you have a proper toilet auger? It sometimes takes quite a few attempts, rotate the auger evenly and allow the tool to do the work, when you hit an obstruction, try to ram the auger back and forth, if not Gary has your answer.

I grew up in a 100 year old house and this was always an issue. My grandfater would use "Lye.' I have had to use it once since I've been grown and it works. You can buy lye at your local hardware store like a home depot or true value. Please, please, please be careful not to get it on your skin. They come in crystals and that's what I used because the plumbers snake wouldn't work for me either.
When finished, just keep in a safe place away from children.
