First the number of moles of water must be converted to mass. As the molecular mass of water is 18, then 4.32 moles would have a mass of 77.76g. Liquid water has a specific heat capacity of 4.2kJ/kg/K.

The process should be split into three parts. The first part is the cooling of water from 43 degree Celsius to 0 degree Celsius. The heat removed can be calculated from the mass of water multiplied by its specific heat capacity muliplied by the temperature change. hence for the first part 77.76*4.2*43/1000 (to convert grams into kg)=14.04kJ.

Next water freezes (with no temperature change) and the latent heat of fusion has to be added to part one. The latent heat of fusion of ice at 0 degree Celsius is 334 kJ per kg. Ths results in 334*77.76/1000 energy been given up, or in other words 25.97kJ has been removed.

The final part is the subcooling of the ice from 0 degree to -18 degrees. The heat removed can be calculated from the mass of Ice multiplied by its specific heat capacity (for ice this is assumed to be 2.1kJ/kg/K) multiplied by the temperature change. Hence for the third part 77.76*2.1*18/1000 (to convert grams into kg)=2.94kJ.

The heat that is removed from the process is the sum of all three parts i.e 14.04+25.97+2.94=42.95kJ is removed from the process.

This is the answer.

whats up the stairs that "jstro" gave you're certainly suited, yet what he forgot is which you would be able to desire to divide it with the help of a thousand. So once you get that answer in J basically divide it with the help of a thousand and additionally you would be sturdy. the respond is going to be a unfavourable as a results of undeniable fact that's dropping capability.

4.32moles means thr iz exactly 77.76 grams of water.
According to the formula (MCdelta theta)
heat required iz 77.76*2.03*(43-(-18))= 9629.0208J = 9.63KJ
