I expect so, but the very weak link in a Shogun is the Diff / back axle.
If you are attempting to do anything serious then get a vehicle designed to really go off road, and not pull horse boxes on a bit of slippery turf.
They weren't called Land Rovers for nothing, even the new Freelander on road tyres will see off a Shogun on the rough!!
The age, get shot and get a Landy, easy cheap parts, easy to work on, I have a 40yr old series diesel.
