In pounds: 50% mix is x, so the final mix will be x+400

(50%)x + (80%)(400) = (75%)(x + 400)
0.50 x + 320 = 0.75 x + 300
0.50 x + 20 = 0.75x
20 = 0.25 x
80 = x

400 *80% + x * 50% = y *75% , 32000 + x 50 = y 75 ,
400 *20% + x * 50% = y *25% , 8000 + x 50 = y 25
1280 +2x = 3 y & 320 +2x =y 960 +6x =3y 4x = 1280-960= 320,
x = 80 Check 480 pound -> 360 corn = 320 corn + 40 corn.

You need to add 80 poundes to the mix.

.

Let the number of pounds of 50% corn chicken feed be 'x'

So, if we write an equation giving the amount of corn, we will get,

50%(x) + 80%(400) = 75%(400+x)

=> 50x + 80*(400) = 75*(400) + 75x
=> 25x = 5*400
=> x = 80 lbs

So, to make a 75% corn chicken feed, we need 80 lbs of 50% corn chicken feed.

let x pounds of 50% be mixed with 400 lbs of 80%
By the problem
50x/100 +80x/100=(400+x)X75/100
=>50x+80x=75(400+x) [multiplying all the terms by 100]
=>130x=30000+75x
=>130x-75x=30,000
=>55x=30,000
=>x=30,000/55=545.454 lb
Ans. 545.454 lbs
