A game like Grand Theft Auto. Is it only something adults can do. (I do have quite an experience in computers) I mean, Bill Gates started thinking of Microsoft in high school, so why can't I.

It is absolutely ok to have that kind of thinking, it may be a big project and require friends to help, but knowing you ability and be able to plan and execute the project is important to bring the project to a success.

I have a client that was 16 when she wrote a php/mysql website on virtual horse breeding and racing, initially hosting on a shared account and got popular later, now she is on a dedicated server with members willing to pay annual membership fees to enjoy the game.

I have also sponsored a 12 year old boy to build and host a website with us.

Though this projects is much much more simple that the game you mentioned, but just imagine how many 12 year old boy in this world that will think of it ?

Good luck to you and I wish you success in your project.

I doubt it. Nothing personal, I don't even know you or what you are capable of, but GTA is a very complicated game and you have to be the next Albert Einstein to do that sort of thing all by yourself. But try Java programming, that is the most fun thing I've ever done (I'm 14) and it really develops creativity and problem solving skills.

a game as complex as GTA can't be created by a single person, you need a team for that
think about it, even if you're tallented enough to make the graphics, the story line and all the programming all by yourself you would need A LOT of time to do that
at your age you can definitely start programming, try creating simpler games at start and as you progress they will become more complex

yes of course, First you already have an idea right.... now the game has to be playable to whatever age group your designing it for, (if you are a brainiac, the younger groups may not understand.... then you have to create some type of layout that makes sense to what the name is that you chose ( assuming you have a name for it) then you have to create, player pieces if any, cards if any, dice if any and so on... but to answer your question,
Yes a 13 yo can create a game........

Maybe.
Game like GTA needs thousand person works for it.
Some people works for sound, some people may handled the character, etc.
I love GTA series, but i know that its not that simple to make it, because it needs team.
I suggest you learn about the basic ( programing language, graphic, sound) and the most important: Ideas.
Someday youll find which field you most skilled.

Good Luck.

Yes, a teenager can create a game. But, it's nothing trivial. it could easily possibly take years to learn and attain the knowledge to create a AA++ title. One of the best sites you can learn from and get started is: www.GameDev.net

hope that helps.

I like GTA too but I can't create a whole game. I've started off doing bits and pieces of the game called "mods". You should check these sites out. http://www.gtaforums.com , http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/index.php , and http://www.gtagaming.com/

sure you could. you just need to know how to program. You need to have a programming language compiler (such as VIsual BASIC or C++) installed on your computer and an idea you want to try. Check out http://www.pscode.com for great sample codes.

Not a game like GTA, especially not by yourself, unless you're extremely talented.
