It is snowing outside, and my goats are really cold. I walked out there this morning and they were shivering. I would put an old blanket out there for them, but I'm afraid if there are any mice in the barn they might chew the blanket. Is there anything else I can do to keep them warm?

I've raised goats for 10 years and never had a problem. Just be sure the barn you have them in is draft free, and that they have plenty of clean, dry STRAW to bed down on. I always increased their grain a little too during the winter months and be sure they always have plenty of hay to munch on. And be sure all water buckets are unfrozen.
Old blankets are pretty much useless...they will end up getting urinated on and then be all wet and frozen. Besides...the goats will probably nibble on them more than the mice would.
I personally wouldnt put heaters or heat lamps in there either,....too risky.

I have had goats for a long time and cold has never been an issue. As long as they have a shed to run into they will be fine.I live where it sometimes gets -40 and have never lost a goat to cold weather. Always keep hay in front of them at all times. Hay and not grain is what gives them warmth. Your vet will be glad to confirm this.

Be xtra careful if you put a heater in a small barn! My friend did that and the Goats knocked the heater over and the barn and the Goats were burned to a crisp. He lost everything, tools, equipment, lawnmower etc.

Put up a heat lamp in one corner. Stand some plywood up so there isn't a draft there as well.
