you change a baby's pacifier every 3 months. a good brand is Advent.they come 2 to a pack.my son has used it since birth and loves it!the best thing about it is the pacifier when not in use, can be covered with a top so it keeps it clean.good luck

I'd say change the pacifier every 3 months or if they look torn and used which ever comes first. The packages come in different ages (0-3months, 3-6months, 6+months). I suggest you don't throw the old one out first until you try out the new one. My daughter could always tell if it was new and would take a couple of tries before accepting it even though it was the same brand and color. As for brand I found the avent worked well when she was up to 3 months then I switched to MAM pacifiers they didn't seem to leave a ring of red around her mouth from the drooling since they seem to have more air vents to dry the spit.

Pacifiers should be discarded (AND REPLACED!) whenever they appear cracked, feel sticky (even after cleaning), or appear heavily worn. Any time pieces start to come off, get rid of it immediately.

I think you should let the baby have her pacifier until she is ready to stop sucking it in her own time.

oh I had lots of trouble with this, everytime I gave my daughter a new one she used to refuse it and cry. so I suggest you have a few so baby does not get used to the same one and change them regularly as soon as they loose firmness, believe me baby knows change so you have to be one up on them
