You might not like this after you remove the seat and fuel tank strap bolts break off then the filler neck rubber tube crumbles to dust. Then to add insult to injury the tank where the sender is rusted and the bottom seam is about to burst too. All that is just a heads up! Your truck might be different start with an empty tank remove the seats filler neck and body grommet fuel line and sender wire. A quick check if the gauge is working ground your new sender to metal of the truck hook up the sender wire and operate the float up and down. Most 1964 chevys also need attention in the dash to get all the meters working.
