Get a Geocities account or something then upload your PDF files and then use a hyperlink like this:

Download File

on a file called "index.html" and that will allow the people to click on your PDF files and downlaod them.

If your webpage is personal and NOT professional AND you don't mind having ads at the top of your webpages, you can open a FREE account at Yahoo GeoCities, Tripod/Lycos, or Angelfire. At any of these sites, you can cut and paste your html code and get your webpage hosted and published for free.

You can accomplish all of this by openning a FREE blogging account as well. I know that www.blogger.com allows you to upload photos, and files which you can link to within your blog posts. This is a really easy alternative without buying a domain name and webhosting.

If you have designed your own webpages for your own website, and you want your webpage to have no ads or you want it to look professional, you will need the following:

#1) A registered domain name, I recommend GoDaddy.com

#2) A hosting account. This is where you put your web pages. I recommend IXwebhosting.com

#3) An FTP program to upload your files onto the web. I recommend a FREE tool call ALFTP.

#4) To link pages together, you need to name one of the pages "index.html". This will make that page your home page and it will automatically come up when someone navigates to your domain name.

#5) On your index.html page, you will need to create links to your other web pages. This is really easy. Use the following code:
Page 2

Of course you would replace "domainname" with your real domain name and replace "page2.html" witht the name of your second page. Then replace "Page 2" with whatever text you want to show on the Home Page.

This is the hard way doing the coding yourself.

The easiest way is to get a wysiwyg editor and just select the link function. Then it will be simply filling in the blanks.

#6) In order to create links to PDF files on your site, you do the EXACT same thing as in step #5, but instead of having a webpage name, you put in the name of your pdf document (report.pdf).

Also, if this is your first website I recommend starting with a simple template instead of starting from scratch.

You can get live video training on how to do all of these basics by going to http://www.diywebtech.com. You will get free templates, free wysiwyg html editing tools, a free FTP program and video instructions for everything that I just told you.

And that is basically it.

Remember, just because you publish a site doesn't mean anyone else will see it. There are milliones of sites. If you want people to see your website, you must learn how to get the word out about your site.

You need to have Microsoft's front page or Dreamveaver. You only need to drag n drop components using this software which is very simple and you don't need any coding knowledge.
Then you should test this page using IIS which is additional component provided in Operating Systems CD Rom. Install it and paste your web page in its root directory.
After this open any browser and type "http://localhost/name of your web page ".
Don't use " ". If you get your page displayed then now you should get it uploaded.
Get a free web space from http://freeservers.com
Follow the instructions of this site and upload this web page there and get url for it. Now you are done with it.

I too have to give props to tripod. You can start with their free set-up, and utilize their WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) or "site builder" templates, and before you know it, you will be well on your way to being a self taught designer.

You can compare their plans:
