i had just taken an important exam last yr too.
my concentration wasnt that good too.
and even if i "concentrated" on wad i was doing, i found out that i wasnt realy doing much..not productive in my work..

for urself to concentrate, u firstly need to be determined..
i believe one can concentrate if he or she wants to..
i can bring myself to concentrate,i just keep studying though it wasn productive...this helps to increase ur conc n help u to get use to it..studying a little is better than not absorbing anything at all in the end right?

also, the most important thing for u to concentrate is to remove ALL distractions away when ure studying.!!!
like ur mp3,handphone,or wadever..
sit away fm ur noisy frens n the computer..

do not take sugary stuffs when u know u are gg to study..
as surveys have shown tt it would cause ur body to feel tired after some time..
to be able to conc, have more sleep too..
make sure u have at least 7 hrs of sleep..

plan ur time well n reward urself after work..
get urself motivated by those nerdy students..
use them to give u more pressure to start work..pressure make ppl do work wth choice..
if u dont mind, u can talk to ur parents, ask them to remind u to study or nag at u whenever ure not studying!
afterall, its an impt exam, u wou;dnt want to lose out in the end

ALL THE BEST..
concentrate..
if not, try taking up mediattion or yoga..believed to help

these are all some everyday tips : try deep breathing for 10 whole minutes before going to bed. That increases your concentration. Try writing and learning your notes and read throught the notes every day, then you will not be anxious towards your study habits. dont think about anything whilst u r studying. there might be distractions like music, chatrooms, forums, movie, friends. try to shut them all for some time till you feel that you are studying hard enough. time management is important. try putting all your work into time slots. if u sit with the books infinitely then there will be no concentration or eagerness/will to finish it all, cos then you have enough time. but the brain wotks faster when it has lesser time. dont get frustrated and at the beginning and end of the day, empty all emotion and thoughts from your brain to calm you down and have a clear mind for the day.also, u will have a good night's sleep which will prepare your mind for the forthcoming day.sleep is onr of the most important thing in a human body. dont eat while reading or watching TV, that is a bad habit and although some might say 'multitasking', thats not it. multitasking is the ability to handle the things. your motto should be 'WORK WHILE YOU WORK AND PLAY WHILE YOU PLAY' that will boost your concentration and focus level.

There are some possibilities here, one that you are simply not getting enough sleep, which makes concentrating on new or review information impossible. OR perhaps you are distracted by other issues in your life that need to be resolved. Or, you may be suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder. Some people simply do not test well. Speak to a school counselor and ask for advice about your problem. If taking the counselor's suggestions doesn't work, consider seeing a doctor about ADD, he/ she might be able to help you get tested for this disorder.

You need to tell the teachers and tye can get you tested, I had test anxiety too. Some people have learning disabilities that affects the way they take exams. If you have either one of these, they make allowances for you to have special privialages at the testing site. Talk to your teachers about getting some help.

What I did to help myself was copy all notes / info twice. Any terms I wrote 5 x each. Anything else I couldn't memorize I made a mnemonic device for. Make up a funny story using the words needed to memorize.
