1/3(1-2x)=1/4
multipliy each side by 3, to get rid of it
1-2x=3/4
2x=3/4-1
2x=-0.25
divid by 2 each side
x= -0.125

1/3(1-2x)=1/4
get rid of the -1.. so you add one to both sides
1/3(1-2x)=1/4
+1 +1
1/3(2x)=1 1/4
get rid of the 1/3 so divide both sides by 1/3
2x=3
divide both sides by 2 to get rid of the 2
2x=3
/2 /2
x=1.5

hope u can understand this...
all u really need to do for these kinda problems is get rid of the numbers that are on the same side of the equal sign as the variable

1/3(1-2x)=1/4
first multiply the 1/3 out so you get
1/3 - 2/3x=1/4
then move the 1/3 to the other side
1/3-1/3-2/3x=1/4-1/3
get common denometers on the one side (12)
and combine them

2/3x=7/12
now multiple the reciprical on both sides

3/2*2/3x=7/12*3/2
x=21/24

1/3(1-2x)=1/4

1-2x=3/4 (dividing is multiplying by the reciprocal)

-2x=-1/4 (subtracted the 1)

2x=1/4

x=1/8

1/3-2/3x=1/4
-2/3x+1/3-1/3=1/4+1/3
-2/3x=take the LCD of 12 and make 1/3=4/12 and 1/4=3/12
-2/3x=7/12
-2/3 x -3/2= 7/12 x-3/2=
x=-21/24=-7/8
x=-7/8

first, get rid of the brackets and fractions my multiplying by 12 (the lowest number that 3, 2, and 4 will go into evenly):
12(1/3)[12(1-2x)]=12(1/4)
(4)[12-24x]=3
then, multiply to get rid of brackets:
4[12-24x]=3
48-96x=3
then subtract 48 from both sides:
48-48-96x=3-48
-96x=3
then divide both sides by -96 to isolate x:
-96x/-96=3/-96
x= -1/32
hope this helps
