My boyfriend started smoking at the age of 30 (1 1/2 years ago). He was always sitting on break with the smokers so he decided to pick up the habit. He usually smokes a pack a day. But once when we were playing cards, he smoked a pack and a half in less than 10 hours!

So, it got me curious :

How old were you when you started smoking?
What brand do you smoke? Are you a pack a day? How much do you spend on a pack or carton? Would anything or someone make you consider kicking the habit? And finally, I can understand your need to smoke one, but why another, then another, etc. I find it more of a social thing. I mean, when he's hanging out he smokes more than when he's at home (unless he's on the computer, then he smokes one right after the other).

16. Tracker. $18 a carton. I never intend to quit. It's not social for me. I often smoke alone.

I just can't understand why you asked in English if this is the brazilian version of Yahoo Answers, but...
I was 20 when I started smoking;
I use to smoke about a 15 cigarettes a day.
I pay R$3 for each pack.
I always think about stop smoking because I know it's a stupid thing, but I never couldn't do it and finally...
I think the act of smoking is just a time to do nothing, to don't worry about anything... It would be good if smokers could learn how to take a time without any cigarette, don't you think so?

I started when I was about 12 (Im 38 now). Im not a major smoker since it takes me about 2-3 days to finish a pack. A lot of it is social since I do it mostly on my breaks and lunch and when Im on the computer. There are days when I go without completely, usually my days off. I have stopped cold turkey, whenever I got pregnant. Wasnt a problem for me. I never get that "need for nicotine" thing that most smokers get.
