If you are their immediate supervisor, then be sure to be giving them work to do. It's difficult to undermine when you are caring out orders. If they are new, surely they know less than you so, when they pop off with their new found wisdom, complete the thought with your better understanding of the situation.
Allign with another seasoned co worker. Never go it alone.
Best of luck

Just last week I was faced with the same situation. All of the people I work with are younger, even the supervisor, and lead people. I was always the one to be moved, always the one who had no idea what I was going to do the next day,so last week I had to go to the office, or personnel,to get some one with more authority,to help me in the situation, because they would not here me. I hated to do it but there was nothing left for me to do. But I got results in my favor. Hope I said somrthing to help, popciclecold.

are you saying they don't listen to you and you are their supervisor? In that case if you lose their respect you minds well move on. You could try talking with the person who hired you. If your manager likes you they will support you and let only the ones who respect you stay under your authority, and would either let go of the others or give them to supervisors with a stronger way of supervising. Don't worry, every person has their own way of supervising.
If you are saying you and they both have the same job and you aren't being respected, well it would then depend on your age. If you're older (35 or older) perhaps you need to open your own business.

If they are new, then they might just be trying to "find their place". Just keep doing your job with respect to them in their proper place. Soon they will give you the respect you deserve. Manager people, much of the time, is like training animals..(lol). A little patience, a little time, and a lot of repetition goes a long way. They say that respect has to be earned, but it's just a shame that those of us in management have to KEEP earning it.
Good luck!

You dont have to be nasty to them at all. Keep yourself busy and stick to those groups who respects you, to avoid feeling this way. When they ask you to do small favors, just say that you dont have enough authority to help them out even if you do. Stay away from them, they will do your reputation all sorts of bad.The other thing you can do is ignore them and just speak to them when you have to, you have to be twofaced. Do it for the job.
