Hi, There may be lot of Purpose of Education and it changes from condition to condition and person to person.

WHY THE QUESTION IS ADEQUATE:It is very necessary to be aware with the purpose of Education as we all indulge in education in one or another means.
There are Few::

**LEARN AND EARN: For practical life the purpose of education is important to earn money and to live life.Yes in context some can say that it is not proper butFood is necessary.so lot of pressure comes to learn a lot and earn a lot

**THE ACTUAL PORPOSE:The real purpose of education is to make family and society, and if the society has made you are making Country,if country is being made you are making World..

** TO COMPETE WITH WORLD :In the current scenario rapid economic globalization,increasing GDP growths oriented towards knowledge-based industries aimed at increasing human longevity and enhancing human capabilities.

**LIFE VALUES :education is form of learning which gives moral and values to live life.
Eg.Students develop self-control through learning to obey authority that they accept as legitimate. If students never learn to obey others, they can hardly learn to obey their own internal restraints; for example you are working in a company you need to obey your boss.

**THE COMPLETE PERSON:Purpose of education is to make men complete.It gives a sense of understanding things better.

** MAKES PERSONALITY:
To develop character means our emotional states and base desires into civilized and tasteful emotional states and higher desires. It also means to seek the truth, in community with others,

So can say education is must to make future best either one want to do it by selfish means or helping means.

It's up to you - your purpose of life. Some people learn just for knowledge, some learn for living, some for one's own purpose. You can't answer this question but the question: What is YOUR purpose of education?

I think the purpose varies discretely as you age. Although education's overall purpose is to prepare students for life, how this is accomplished varies significantly. For example, in elementary school, students are taught basic skills (math, reading, writing, socialization, etc.) As students age, the goal of education changes significantly. In high school and college, basic skills should be mastered; so educators focus on critical thinking and independent living skills. This is done by challenging students to look at things in different ways. The goal is not to "program" students (or indoctrinate them) to a way of thinking. It is to get students to analyze the plus and minuses of each variable.

This is why you often hear high school and college teachers/professors say "Regardless of how you respond, make sure you back up your answer with evidence."

Again, though, the overall goal of education is to prepare students for independent life after school. As one of my civics teachers once said, "My goal is to make you a good, law-abiding, independent, functioning member of society so you can pay for my retirement!"
