I like Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake Series. I"ve read most of them so far. Granted it seems she spends more time with shapeshifters these days than vampires, but it is good romance novel material with paranormal creatures.

I like Anne Rice's Vampire novels -
Interview With A Vampire; The Vampire Lesat; Queen of the Damned; Tale of a Body Thief; Memnoch the Devil
After that there are storys that tell more about the individual players. Also if you read the Mayfair series by Anne Rice the Blackwood Farm combines both the Vampire and Mayfair Series
Laurell K. Hamilton is on book 15 in the Anita Black Vampire Hunter Series
Anita has changed quite a bit over the course of the series but WARNING-around book five if you don't like sexual situations stop reading. If you don't mind- the books can be alot of fun.
Dracula-Bram Stoker
the original
Southern Vampire Series-Charlaine Harris
I have not read this series myself, but have read two other books by the author and enjoyed them

These are all teen/YA vampire stories:
Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz was excellent with a lot of back story.
I just read Boys that Bite by Mari Mancusi which reminded me of the Vampire Kisses stories. She has a couple more in this series as well.
Got Fangs? and Circus of the Darned are good vampire stories by Katie Maxwell
Glass Houses by Rachel Caine was a fantastic vampire story.
Look For Me By Moonlight by Mary Downing Hahn is an older vampire story which was good.
Secret Vampire and the Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith are great stories, but I think they're out of print. I was able to request them from the library.
The Silver Kiss is a stand alone vampire story by Annette Kurtis Clause
Peeps and The Last Days by Scott Westerfeld were really good stories, but more untraditional vampire stories than the others. In these books vampirism is caused by a virus.

Soulmate, Huntress, The Awakening, The Fury, The war - throughout L.J Smith Ritual, Initiation, Legacy, Bloodlust through Alex Duval those are very well ,yet of direction Twilight can make all of them seem as if bedtime memories indexed right here are more desirable, yet in contrast to the first ones I gave those are proper for a more desirable mature following: Queen of the Damned, The Vampire Lestat, Blood Canticle, Merrick, Blood and Gold- Anne Rice Anne Rice has a respectable quantity of vampire books yet no longer all of them have romance in them, it is there even though it is no longer the focal factor of the tale

I'd have to recommend The Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series... though only up until Narcissus in Chains. From there on in it's mostly sexsexsex... unless you like that, which is all good.
Classic style vampire stories... hmmm... probably Bram Stoker's 'Dracula', and DEFINATELY 'Carmilla' by Joseph Lefanu. Plus if you can find it, a guy by the name os Kyle Marffin wrote a sequal to Carmilla called 'Carmilla:The Return' which is a classic vampire story set in modern times. (Lesbian action!!!)
Also there's a series of books by L. J. Smith called the 'Vampire Diaries'. Set in round the 90's, I found it a really cool series about a girl who falls in love, gets turned into a vamp by accident and sacrifices her life to save two warring vamp twins... I won't tell you if she comes back or not :P
So yeah... oh and maybe Kim Harrison. It's sort of less hardcore than Laurell. K. Hamilton, but still good.
I have too much spare time.

Below are a few of my favorites:
Interview with the Vampire,, by Anne Rice (Alfred A. Knopf, 1976)
Hotel Transylvania, by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro (St. Martin's, 1978)
The Vampire Tapestry,, by Suzy McKee Charnas (Simon and Schuster, 1980)
Fevre Dream, by George R. R. Martin (Simon and Schuster, 1982)
Those Who Hunt the Night, by Barbara Hambly (Ballantine, 1988)
Carrion Comfort, by Dan Simmons (Dark Harvest, 1989)
I find that when searching for a good vampire novel (on Amazon or at a book store) it is best to narrow the parameters - do you want a modern-day novel, or a Victorian one? A love story or a war epic?
May you find new and exciting reading ..... good luck!

Trust me, you will LOVE, The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice. Its not necessarily "paranormal romance" BUT Lestat's character is so compelling, its hard to put down. Queen of the Damned is also pretty good.
If you have not read Christine Feehan's books Dark Prince, etc, you might like that series, but they are Carpathians, not vampires per se. Very similar with romance involved.

I am going to assume that you have read the Anne Rice vampire series, if not I would highly reccomend it.
Salem's Lot by stephen King is also a good one.
Also, the Vampire Papers by Michale Romkey is good.

Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles is a MUST read, she also has New Tales of the Vampires, and you should also check into Laurell K. Hamilton, and here is a website with a large assortment, http://www.vampirelibrary.com.
