I was born and raised in Rochester. Weather wise about the same as well as cost of living. Rochester is bigger and from seeing both places has more to offer. A great college town with many places to live near campus that are reasonable and agood night life. Crime the same. More things to do on weekends. Both places have their good as well as bad points I from being from there would choose Rochester. Good Luck.

Syracuse has a great college campus and a huge-*** mall (carousel) and it's a much more recognized school than rochester.. depending on your school/studies.

Rochester is more like a small metropolitan city..

The weather during the winter suck in both spots.

Syracuse is a known party school.

Ultimately it depend if you want a more collegy campus atmosphere with students everywhere, or if you prefer a more metropolitan city type school..

my vote is for SU, but then again I am alumni.
