I don`t know about it being a science question anyone would know that a 60 w bulb burns far less electricity than a 1Kw electric fire. 1000 watts is the same as 1 Kilo Watt

A W is the sign for a Watt, a measure of electrical power.
So 1w is 1 watt. A Kw is a kilowatt which is 1000 times one watt. Therefore a Kw has the higher value.

You have to be careful about using lower or upper case.
W (not w) stands for Watts
kW stands for kilowatts (1000 Watts)
w doesn't stand for anything.
This case matter is particularly important with m or M. mW is a thousandth of a Watt, MW is a Million Watts.
