How do Carnies "Guess your weight" correctly? Is it a scam or skill?

It's a skill -- and it does not take much practice either. If you practice with 100 different people, for 2 or 3 weeks at least, you will get pretty good at it.

An A&S man (age and scale operator) likely underestimates a lady's weight or age and she won't contradict him, right?
