Full synthetic will last longer and run cooler! Be sure to read the label,if it contains any anti-friction agents stay clear, your clutch is bathed in egine oil and this could cause slippage. Some synthetics cannot be mixed with mineral oil, again,READ the label. The only full synthetic that I know of that can be mixed with any other oil is" ROYAL PURPLE" made in Humble TX ,look them up on the web. It is sold a lot on E-BAY

Full synth is great oil. The other answers may not know that 'some' TDM's burn oil... if yours does and you are low when there is no full synth around then you are out of luck.
I have been using semi-synth in my TDM for years. I started with full synth but found that semi-synth was almost as good, a lot cheaper, and if necessary I could top off with mineral oil in a pinch.
I have been riding the same TDM for the past 15 years... make of that what you will.
Just good to see another TDM rider out there.
PS: Full or Semi either will reduce the 'clunk' of dropping into 1st gear.

Full. I've been using Mobil 1 since the 70s and have never worn out an engine. Synthetic is particularly good for bike engines because it handles the greater pressures and higher temperatures better, and lasts a lot longer.

Use what the owners manual or the dealer tells you to use. I use full synthetic and works fine for me. Just that if you the full synthetic oil you have to use that an your oil. You cant put any other oil in unless it's the full synthetic.

in case you alter your oil frequently, consisting of each 3000 miles, then any authorized multi-weight could be sturdy adequate. yet in affirming that, I could admit that i take advantage of an entire synthetic oil which i think is superb, and that i additionally substitute my oil frequently. i'm probable over-doing it. synthetic oil, as I comprehend it, is oil that has been processed (i think of centrifuged) so as that the molecular shape of the main suitable product is extremely uniform and that's a very good lubricant. Your motor vehicle is intense mileage so 10-40 or 10-50 might probable be a competent selection. i like to apply 5-30 in my motor vehicle year around, yet I stay in Fairbanks, AK the place that is -50F interior the iciness and 10-40 has an identical viscosity as roofing tar.
