The song lyrics for "Waiting for a Train" by Flash and the Pan:
Wonder why it's getting cold at night
I must be getting old
Looks like I'm gonna have to wait a while
What the hell, I'm bored
What's that there on the railway line
Looks like my old brown shoe
It ain't mine mister, how's that for laughs
Not even how do you do
Wonder what's cooking at the house tonight
Stew and beans
Tune that station, turn that dial
Have another dream
Ain't it stupid how some people stare
Not even how do you do
What's that mister - na na na
I'm just the same as you
Chorus:
Running down the main line
Shaking off the pain
Heading for a bright time
Waiting for a train
Who's that guy, I've seen his face before
Where or when
Must be another face from Suzie's bar
It was different then
Ain't no way that I can fix this up
I've really lost the place
What's that mister, yeah yeah
I hope they fix your face

Here I am waiting in the rain
It looks like this wait will be in-vain
Why did I not try harder to refrain
From jumping on that 9:30 train
Now I'm here and feel like going insane
Why, oh why did I not listen to my brain
Now my heart is so full of pain
No more will I play this Waiting game.

I said to my soul, be still, and wait without hope
For hope would be hope for the wrong thing; wait without love,
For love would be love of the wrong thing; there is yet faith
But the faith and the love and the hope are all in the waiting.
Wait without thought, for you are not ready for thought:
So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing.

Do they have to be by recognised poets? I did one about waiting, it was ages ago, and I think it could be alright for your purposes... If I remember rightly the last couple of lines went something like 'Clamp down teeth, and wait, wait- wait longer, longer than expected'. If you promise to credit me I'll go through my files and send you it...

waiting
in a room of gloom
or as a bride or groom
feeling anxious, ill
shall I run or take a pill
stay, stray or come back another day
results of tests, exams or lumps in breasts,
waiting
not making a fuss, while looking for the bus
that's late again, a pain
or for a meal that is no big deal
to the staff who laugh
at your patience as it goes
and you tap your fingers and toes
so
stop waiting
and start berating

Waiting for Passion
Don't let your passion fade,
keep building it up everyday.
Soon we will be together,
we'll be each others for forever.
I can't wait to cherish and love you,
I really can't wait, I hope it's soon.

Waiting ....by Dawn D
Wanting,
lusting,
to be held,
to be loved,
to feel warmth,
to feel your beating heart.
Wanting to be sheltered from the cold,
heartless winds.
Falling into invisible arms;
into an abyss of love.
Wishing,
hoping,
that my desires will be filled;
my desires of loving warmth.
Wanting to be held,
comforted,
loved.
Dreaming of passionate embraces,
of tender kisses,
loving words,
romantic nights.
Waiting for undying love.
