Every time I rip a pair of jeans I wash them. After a couple of washings they have that ripped look girls are trying to achieve. Yesterday, I was unpacking and I ripped my jeans on a piece of metal on a decorative sled. Now mind you I was not happy about it but I will iron a piece of jean material onto the back after I wash them a couple of times and they will have the look you want and that I can hopefully get away with. Use iron on glue. Check at fabric store.

i use a cheese grater. it gives the jeans a cool texture and it takes a little longer than scissors, which allows you to give them the perfect rip that you want to have.
