Richmond Fast or Slow City?

I was asking about the pace of Richmond Virginia I never been just Doswell( Kings Dominion).This person from down there said Richmond is bigger than DC in population and it's a real compare to Washington DC. Is this correct information from this person?

No Richmond Va, has a far smaller population than DC.
Richmond, has a population of roughly 193,700.

Both cities (being capitals) have a lot of history, many monuments, attractions, entertainment, cultural activities etc.
They both cater extremely well for the tourist.

I'm not sure how to answer the part about the pace of Richmond.
Both cities are very busy and crowded throughout the working week. DC also has many thousands of visitors daily to keep it hopping along.

I grew up in Richmond and have lived there recently. It is NOT nearly as big (size-wise or population-wise) as Washington DC. I would not say that Richmond and DC fall into the same league at all.

Richmond is not fast or slow paced in particular. It is somewhere in between... there is a lot to do but it is not going to be possible to find something to do that interests somebody all of the time like there is in DC. There is a lot of history in Richmond like DC, but everything is on a smaller scale - buildings are not as big, museums are not as large, etc.

Richmond is a moderate sized city - not a major metropolis like Washington DC.
