Eddie Stobbart based in Carlisle just off Scottish border. Rumour is that when they charged people for haulage, it was only from the border, so if you had goods to go from Newcastle to Aberdeen say, they would only charge from border. So I'm told.................

it was and is a company known as Eddie stobbart who were based in Kingstown carlisle in the 1980's when i used to work next door to their head office
